Zaatar is a wonderful adaptable blend of herbs and spices to be found in absolutely every Middle Eastern kitchen. In fact, most countries from Lebanon, Syria and Jordan through to Morocco will have their own version of Zaatar, although it is generally always based on Thyme.
Thyme typically used for Zaatar in the Middle East is very different from the sometimes sharp or bitter Thyme or Oregano generally found elsewhere. The smoothness of the authentic Thyme used in Sami’s Kitchen products combined with the other Aleppo-style ingredients makes this blend a perfect match for a huge variety of meals and a must-have ingredient in your kitchen.
Mix with Olive Oil and serve as a dip with crusty crackers or spread onto fat-head pizza base.
